Just as it's important to assess the necessary features when implementing a DS/ML platform, it's equally essential to understand which functionalities are required when adopting a DIP. Decision Intelligence needs to combine various decision-making components—such as data, AI, and business experts—to develop unique decision-making processes and structures for each company.

In this section, we'll introduce three key features that DEIN insists should be included, alongside the list of necessary functionalities presented by market research firms.

Business KPI authoring tools:

A Business KPI is a shared, measurable goal that all decision-making participants and elements aim to achieve together. Since decisions across a company affect one another, designing and clarifying the relationships between various Business KPIs is essential for implementing decision intelligence. Business KPIs help participants understand, improve, and monitor business decisions. Business KPI authoring tools support the design and structuring of these KPIs.

Business Analysis tools:

Making informed business decisions requires a clear and precise understanding of the current business status. Business Analysis tools empower users to analyze various decision-making elements in an interconnected manner, ranging from simple data visualization to more complex aspects such as AI models, business rules, and decisions made by human experts, all of which interact with business KPIs. Additionally, these tools provide context and insights beyond mere data points, enabling comprehensive and multi-dimensional analysis of KPI changes from the perspective of business experts. This includes variations by product, region, demographics, time, and so on.

Decision Governance:

Governing decisions requires 3 functionalities: structuring, monitoring and updating decisions. Decisions across a company are interconnected and impact each other, necessitating timely adjustments. Changes in business decisions occur as frequently as changes in the business environment. However, the regular AI model doesn’t explain the business status and the (re)training process often takes longer than necessary. Decision Governance is a tool that enables a company to build a comprehensive, company-wide decisioning structure and respond to changes in a timely manner.
